Bonjour,
I hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day. We had a great week end in"Paris". Our Best Friends Tea was a big hit. It was so nice to see all of you who came, toasting your best friends with you flutes of sparlking Jasmine Tea. Thank you all for making my Valentine's Day wonderful.
Over the weekend we debuted our new boxed French Macarons from XT Patesserie.  The French trained chef there has been making our macarons for us for several months now and we think they are the best ever. They came up with this great box that keeps the 12 assorted macarons perfect until you get them home and devour them. They make the perfect gift, or it's a great way to sample all the flavors we offer. We still sell them individually or in our assorted six flavors. We're working with them to be able to ship these nationwide. In the mean time come by and pick some up at Paris In A Cup. Also debuted this weekend was their new creme brulee macaron. This new French macaron is the invention of French chef Xuan Ngo and it is to die for. He starts with two, delicate raspberry macarons, fills the center with creme brulee, dips this in white chocolate, then dips one half in dark chocolate. The result is a tower of pure pleasure to your mouth. Is your mouth watering? This is the best I have ever tasted, really. You can only get them at Paris In A Cup, and we only get a few a day.
Xuan Ngo was born in Danang, Vietnam and grew up in Les Baux de Provence, France. There, he spent the summers of his childhood in the kitchen of Oustau de Baumaniére. Upon graduating high school, he went to work for Pâtisserie Lenôtre - a renowned Paris bakery.
Visit Paris In A Cup soon, try a French macaron, enjoy a brief respite.
A bientot!

Did you know that Marie Antoinette had a BFF? Princesse de Lamballe stood by Antoinette during her time as queen when it seemed all of France was against her, including her husband. She was with her during her imprisonment encouraging her and praying for her until the end. Most of us have a best friend, some one who would stand by us through it all, never judging, just there by our side. This Sunday in "Paris" we celebrate these friends with our Valentine Tea. I encourage you all to honor your best friend during Valentine's week end. If they are far away, give them a call. If they are close, take them to lunch or just drop by with a little something that says "Thanks for always being there".  Whether it's your best gal pal, your Mom or like me, your sister, we need these folks. Who else can you tell that you ate entire package of cookies and know it won't get back to anyone else. Who has seen you at your worst and still loves you? Aren't they worth a little extra effort?
If you won't be making the trip to Paris In A Cup this weekend for Tea, we will miss you, but save the date for our Spring Tea on Saturday, April 3rd. Guests are encouraged to show off there best Spring Hat. Start fashioning yours today because there will be prizes!
A bientot!

Spring Tea

Well the rains have passed for now. I am in hopes that means spring is just around the corner. We'll be celebrating spring in a big way in "Paris" this year. As in France, printemps (spring time) is a time for showing off the newest creations from all the famous design houses. It's your chance to show off your best chapeau at Paris In A Cup's Spring Tea. Come for luncheon tea on Saturday, April 3 wearing your best spring bonnet, home-fashioned or store-bought. Prizes will be awarded at each seating. Watch our website http://www.parisinacup.com/ for details.

New items found

Bonjour from Paris In A Cup!
We are back from a long Market Week. Between LA and San Francisco we have seen a lot. We are so excited to have found a great new French cheese connection. Hopefully, they will soon be debuting in our Plat de Provence. Valerie was hot on the trail for new fresh-food ideas, while I hunted for new teas and gourmet items for the boutique. We'll be receiving some of these new things soon so watch the website http://www.parisinacup.com/ or visit us to find out what's new.
Don't forget our Best Friends Valentine Tea on Sunday February 14th. Who's your best friend? Your mom, sister, aunt, husband, beau or your best gal pal? Treat some one you love to a trip to "Paris". They'll love you for it.
A bientot!

It's Market Time!

Bonjour,
Well, it's market time in LA this week. This is the time we go to the LA Mart and convention center in search of new items for our Paris Boutique. My sister and I were there yesterday all day wandering in and out of showrooms on the hunt for unique Paris/French inspired merchandise. Yesterday we found a lot of fleur de lis items and some great things with the Eiffel Tower. So, we did find a few great things and we will go back again on Friday when the convention center opens. Let's hope we find some more.
Also, just  a note. Valerie is working on the Valentine Tea menu and we'll soon be working on our spring tea menu. Lot's of good stuff to come. Watch our website http://www.parisinacup.com/ for details.
Au revoir

Meet the authors tea and book launch

I had such a wonderful time at our Meet the Authors Tea and "The Vintage Table" book launch this last Saturday, that I felt the need to start a blog. I would very much like to thank everyone involved in this event. Our guest authors, Jacqueline deMontravel and her editorial staff from Romantic Homes Magazine graciously chatted with each of our guests, while signing books. They lasted all day during two full luncheon teas. They were troopers. Our wonderfuly generous guests dug deep and raised over $600. for our chosen charity, Casa Teresa. We were blessed with so many beautiful donated door prizes from some very sweet merchants here in Old Towne Orange and surrounding communities. And, last but not least my staff did an outstanding job preparing and serving lunch and tea for almost 90 guests. Whew, it was a lot of work, but it was so worth it. One of our dear attendees held my hand on her way out and told me how she felt as though she had been nurtured. Wow, she has no idea how she touched my heart. When we created Paris In A Cup, the goal was to create an escape. A playhouse so-to-speak, for grown-ups. A place to feel at peace, if even for just an hour. Well now I am a blogger. Look out, you'll be hearing from me often. Bless you all. Cheryl
